I hate that I don't update this blog often enough. I constantly have writing topics that float through my mind but it seems the past few months I've just been absorbing facts, working, being a parent, and trying to keep afloat during these fast moving times. It's hard to be able to sit and formulate the correct or even meaningful words to describe exactly what I would like to share with my readers. I apologize!!
Is it me or does fall always seem to usher in more activity for everyone? Whether it's for other parent's trying to get their kids ready for school or people come back from their summer vacations and work just seems to take off! Amazing how cyclical everything is and how everyone seems to always be in the same positions. I personally believe it's because we really are all connected and whatever motion we set off, it affects the other.
I titled this post Fast Forward Motion because I have noticed with the use of greater technology, doesn't it seem like there was a set speed all of a sudden that we have gotten use to and now try to ingrain into our personal lives? We barely have to wait for anything anything. All that we basically need or want, we can go out and retrieve within minutes, hours, and at the most days. Type in whatever information you are inquiring about, Google can give you within seconds. Netflix delivers movies right to your door. Mcdonalds has hot breakfast for you in 2 minutes. UPS and other shipping companies strive to make sure a shipment that needs to go red, actually does! Emails took the place of snail mail and the amount of people carrying blackberry's now well....they are never far from what needs to be sent to them - work has an ending where here?? Do we know how to wait patiently anymore? Haha
My point is, things are happening fast all around us. It's what we've gotten used to, we probably don't even really notice the pace really. However with this, I wanted to stop and point something out. We accomplish so much in one day than our ancestors ever did in months just a century ago ago! We can hop on a flight to London and get there within hours. They used to have to be on a ship if they wanted to cross continents and didn't expect to arrive upon their destinations until 2 or three seasons later. Think about it, from morning until nightfall, what are the things that you get done? Especially when you have errands. So give yourself some credit! If you're not at the highlight of your career at this time, or you don't have the dream spouse or dream home yet, try not to sweat it! Life is much more. So much more now you can see and do. Give yourself a break and when you have a moment to just relax and breathe, take it. Sip a cup of coffee or cocoa, since fall is close, put your feet up and just enjoy the moment.....
We have all come very far....
I see so many positive things in our world today that was never there before. Our global community is becoming smaller, people in all sorts of different countries are communicating with one another daily, environmental awareness is reaching farther and farther, and even though the economy hasn't been so great, hasn't it put the focus back on how we can all help one another? It's taught us empathy. Anyone can lose his or her job at any moment. At some point in time we all need a helping hand. Something to remember the next time any of us sees a person struggling.
Onward we go!!
Let's face it, how we present ourselves to the outside world tells everyone a lot about who we are as individuals. My goal with this blog is to inspire and share different ways of bringing the beautiful inner light we all have out to the surface.

The Road Ahead
I can't believe it's been since March that I've posted on this blog. I apologize. I have such a hard time coming up with the energy to do all the things I want to do. But I wanted to focus today's entry on things that I've noticed for a long time now. Since the day we were born, we've had goals and we thrive to achieve them. But somewhere along the line, we've forgotten how to capture the essence of what's right in front of us.
Sometimes, I will just sit and watch my baby as he focuses his full attention on whatever item he keeps putting in his mouth. He will eye it with such intensity and rarely nothing can pull his attention away from it except for some other loud noise in the room. The point is...he is living in the moment. How did we learn to think, "I will be happy when this happens some day, or I will be happy when I get this someday..."
What if that some day never comes? Does that we mean, we've just been living in unhappiness every other day? If we constantly think or focus on the future to ensure the happiness in ourselves, then it will ALWAYS be out of our reach. We are the creators of our own reality. With the mindset of happiness is in the future then that is exactly what we are getting. Happiness will always ONLY be in the future. This moment is the only guarantee that we have. The past is gone, the future is unsure of. Don't wait for happin
ess. Create it now. :) Do what makes your heart sing. Dance in front of the mirror alone. Sit and enjoy a simple cup of latte or just take a walk outside and enjoy nature. Whatever you choose to do...put your whole focus and attention on it. Because if you don't you are only cheating yourself. You will lose the moment and never will you get it again. Time passes by very fast. How many things happened in the past that we wished we could have appreciated more? Don't make today be that day later on....

Clear out the Clutter...
It's been so long since I've written in this blog so if I have any readers on here, I want to apologize. Life sometimes just take off into this fast forward motion and all I really want to do is sit back and absorb. I can't believe I'm writing this post so late right now. It's past 11 and even though it's a Saturday night, it's past my bed time especially when I have a baby who doesn't know the meaning of sleeping in on the weekends. :)
But as I was shutting my eyes tonight these words just started tumbling around in my mind for this entry and since inspiration is so fleeting I decided to get up and come type this out. Secondly, I went to an intuitive counselor today and she actually mentioned my writing and said that my words are very healing to those who read it. That makes me happy to hear since I don't know who really reads this blog besides my close friends.
Now you see, I actually wrote the title of this entry on March 23 and kept meaning to come back to it, but I just didn't really know what to write. Now I do. Spring time is around the corner which for many activates the spring cleaning time. The reason why decluttering is so important is because it kind of nudges the universe by saying you are starting a blank slate and inviting more blessings and rewards into your life. It's kind of like the concepts from feng shui. You're home carry's a lot of your energy. If you pack it in too tight with little room for much else, that's exactly how life will play out for you at that moment. I'm pretty notorious at being a pack rat myself, but ever since I learned this concept about a year ago, I've seen many new things just come my way. I'm not saying I'm still very good at clearing things out, but slowly I'm getting there. By the end of this year, I would like to have a very clean and clear spaced home. The more clear it is, the more positive energy can flow in and faster the negative energy can flow out. Like the waves in the ocean.
Now this includes relationships. There are some people out there who are just toxic to certain other people. It doesn't mean they are bad people, just their negative characteristics come out more around some people. If you are around someone and they seem to only be bringing out your worse sides, unless you thrive on that kind of drama, it's necessary to take a step back and really evaluate the relationship. Releasing someone from your life doesn't mean you don't have love for them, it just means, you love yourself enough to say, "Hey I don't need to be steeped in negative energy every time this person calls me." So, "Go into your garden of relationships and pull the weeds out." I read that somewhere, but can't remember where. I thought it was very fitting to my life at this moment. I've never felt more calm or at peace than I am today. I go through the ups and downs like everyone else in life with stress from bills and work but overall I feel much gratitude from the loving people I do have that surround me.
They remind me to see the bigger picture and honestly since I've made such a concious decision to surround myself with more positive people, I see little blessings every single day. Life is a give and take, when you give love and joy, you receive back love and joy. :)

Express Yourself
As those closest to me know, I'm constantly learning and working on finding my own brand of spirituality everyday. The same theme follows the idea of most religions. We are all ONE. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. I think this idea scares some people because our ego causes us to hold on tightly to ourselves. We are so attached to who we are on this planet that the idea of leaving and joining up with one collective being causes us to be scared and want to hold on tighter to the idea that we are all alone. But if we surrender and realize that we are part of this other whole, a greater love out there, the roller coaster ride we face in life may not seem so scary.
Some people will read my words and either get it or it may take a few more years for it all to completely sink in. I get it.....I've been there but my awareness has expanded greatly since I've decided to take my ego out of my daily situations and I will not force my beliefs onto anyone. Life is definitely meant to be as a journey. And since we are so attached to the person we are born as then I think it's important to evaluate why. To me, I'm attached to my personality and habits because it clearly expresses who I am, me alone. With every new experience I take in and process, I express myself in a variety of ways following it. Why? Plain and simple..it brings me joy. It brings me joy when I'm writing these thoughts down and knowing someone out there is reading it and appreciating it. So how do you express your individual self? Ask yourself that. What do you present to the world that shows who you are on the inside? If you don't know..take the time to figure it out. It could be in dancing, painting, a certain way of dressing, cooking, or even speaking. You know you're expressing your true self when a bubble of joy forms inside of you. It's that simple. And if it's something another person might call "silly" like coloring in a color book, don't worry about it. It's what makes life so pleasurable, it's why we decided to leave the comfort of the higher being to be born onto this life.

Letting It All Go...

Why do we choose to hold onto old perceptions about ourselves? Maybe when we were younger we were the kid on the playground who always liked to be on the monkey bars. Maybe we hated peas as a child and now have learned to love it. Who you were 10 years ago or even a year ago may not be the person you are today. When people try to peg you as a certain kind of person sometimes it can leave you perplexed. People who want to tell you who you are, may actually be insecure about something in their own lives, therefore want you to remain this certain person in order to make some kind of sense in their own world. As you grow and learn, those closest to you will understand and either grow with you or go off in their own direction.
Don't people realize, everyone evolves every single day. Everyday is a fresh new start into doing or being exactly what you want. Instead of sentences like, "Oh, I can't go to that place because it's usually not a place I like to hang out at." Give it a try. Expanding your boundaries can really bring on major changes in your life that you would never have expected. The past cannot serve you, old identity's may no longer hold any truth. Dream new dreams because just like everything in nature that constantly changes, so is the individual. That is what makes life beautiful...when every moment is captured and realized it carries great potential.
I believe we have the power to create miracles within our own lives. Surrounding yourself with positive relationships and environment can really nurture the inner you, and give you the boost needed to fulfill a certain dream. We let little dreams die away without even realizing it when our friends or family tell us it's not possible because it's just not who we are...
So we take the safer route, the road with little risks. But as I've learned from a book I am reading, every choice we make comes with good things and bad things. We may take on a great new job, but the commute is longer. We may choose to enter into a relationship and the alone time is not there as much anymore. And so the point is, try not to spend too much time contemplating your choices. Let some of the worry go because no matter road you take, it WILL lead you somewhere...
Listen to your own inner voice, only you know yourself today better than anyone else.

Things I love
What keeps my spririt joyful is by remembering to do the things I truly love to do. It's a bit harder now that I'm a mother but I try to fit it all in.
Here are some examples:
1. Watch comedies during the week
2. Read interesting articles
3. Check my weekly horoscope
4. Sing to my baby
5. Cook
6. Chat with my best friend
7. Do something thoughtful for a friend or family member
8. Play with colors
9. Write
10. Remember to be thankful everyday
11. Inhaling and drinking fresh brewed coffee..hmm...
By doing these things, I get to release some of my anxiety and stress. It's easy to let negativity and stress build without even realizing it until it blows up. Sometimes you don't even realize how much you are internalizing until one day something happens and you are so on edge that you blow your lid. Remembering to do joyful things just for yourself helps to balance things out. Simple things. It doesn't have to be extravagent. Anything that just takes you back to yourself and what you love. As long as it puts a small smile on your face, you're good to go.

Taking a moment
Life can sometimes just speed on by. Our senses constantly get over loaded whether with tv, radio, or just any type of noise, it gets hard to gather yourself together and make time just for you. Today is finally that day for me. My baby is asleep, I have no plans tonight to see any friends or to do anything. I feel like I can just relax....and reconnect with myself. Every now and then I need this time or else I'm all scattered, imbalanced, and can get very unhappy.
This has been a rough week for me at work but it's now the weekend and I feel good again. And that's all I want to focus on. Every one has to go through rough patches but eventually we all come out of it. For me, it's just about taking the time to revel in the sweet moments, write down my thoughts, feel some peace all around me, and continue to focus on making more positive moments.
