Giving

The past few weeks have been a little stressful for me and also all over the world, mostly in Japan. In times when I'm feeling down or out of sorts, I not only remember the hardships that some others are enduring, but I also find a way to give. This entry is not about trying to make someone do anything, it's more of a personal tool I use to rise above my daily worries. And it can be useful to some. Giving should always come from the heart otherwise, it's meaningless.

During times when I'm incredibly sad, somehow my awareness takes me to those in need. And the first thing I acknowledge is my problem truly isn't so bad after all, that in itself does a lot to lift me. But the second and most surprising thing that I do afterward is give. The rougher I'm feeling, the bigger I try to give. You might question, well what does that do? I will tell you from my personal experience when I have done this, not only do I feel incredibly happy knowing it's going to someone else in need but also it helps me feel great knowing that I'm not being a part of a problem, but a small part in helping to alleviate some of the world's dilemma. It could be a neighbor, a best friend, or even those without heat in Japan. You see that is the secret. When you give to others, you are naturally giving to yourself. It's remembering how lucky you are to have the things you have and nothing feels greater inside than when you feel your heart expand reaching out to others. It may be strangers or someone close to you. Try it. When you are feeling sad, give for example, a purse away or even food to a homeless shelter. I guarantee, there is no way you will feel bad. Know why? Because giving naturally forces you to take your focus off of your own problems. And whatever you focus on, it naturally grows, so why sit around seeing your problems get bigger and bigger? It only creates fear, and fear breeds fear. After giving I guarantee your mind will be clearer and by then you may find a solution to your problem.

So why not help to spread positivity in the meantime? What you give in this life is what you get back. But remember to give from your heart. Giving just to give because it's the supposed right thing to do, will bring you nothing but resentment and regret. Do you want that to keep coming back to you? I know I don't! You'll know when you are giving from the heart because you will feel it enlarge and uplift. There will be a sense of peace. The choice is always yours, this is just something I do for myself and of course for others.

Inspriration

Hello All! 2011 is here, well it's been here quite awhile now...
I've had some few friends ask me when I will be blogging again. And believe me I've had all sorts of ideas for writing topics but just have not felt inspired to write. Could be because of a numerous amount of reasons, exhaustion, lack of motivation, fear of thinking no one actually cares to read any of my ramblings, and most of all I've been terribly addicted to a computer game. I could spend hours playing this game and realize nothing has been done. Any free moment I had to myself which is rare in itself, I just wanted to tune out the world and my brain apparently and play this game.

For just a few hours, I would be able to completely stop thinking and the constant contemplation of daily worries and worldly affairs. Reading is something else I get to do when my baby falls asleep, but again, during reading my mind races into a zillion directions on how I can help my household run better or save the world! Ha! Never a time to just zone out and relax unless I am playing that mind numbing game. I suppose now is the time I realize it is no longer serving me. I miss writing. Like actually miss it. And regardless if only a few of my friends are reading this, at least my messages are being been seen by some people! Thank you buddies!!!

I have exciting things that I will be writing about. I've gathered mucho information from the lovely cyber world and have applied them to my own actual lifestyle and have seen great improvement. But for now, I better save it until next time. My baby or actually my big boy just told me he is hungry. Motherhood comes first. Just thought I would write a nice introductory entry for the new year before settling in with other topics. Byeee!

Time Flies!!

Since I know BB will be reading this, I decided to give it a quick update since it's been since March!! Yikes! Where does the time go?? Someone once said to me, "Don't wish your week away." You can never get moments back, so even with the good or bad, just take it as it comes. New Year's is around the corner. How did this happen?
I look back on the moment's this past year and so much has changed. No wonder she told me that. During the work week, we all can't wait until the weekend. But life isn't made up of weekends. It's the in between stuff that sometimes counts the most because we are too busy looking forward to more exciting things, time gets lost. Can you remember what you did last Wednesday? You probably have to dig around in your mind a bit, but just think, you can never have that moment back! Something to keep in mind as you head into the new year. Make every moment count for you. Stop and enjoy your well planned out meal and laugh with good friends.

Cheers!

Personal Empowerment

Time has just gotten away from me again. I can't believe it's been since September since my last entry on this blog. I guess it seems about right since that was the month I also moved! I've felt inspired many times to get on this blog and write..but then something else needs my attention more.

But the last few months, the same theme has continuously entered my thought process. Personal Empowerment... what does it mean to different people? For me personally, it means taking control of my own happiness. Everyday something could threaten our happiness and some things may be out of our control, but not everything. Whether it is a disagreement with a significant other or co-worker, we have a choice. What we choose to feel and do during difficult moments in day could change everything. Honestly, for example, a co-worker starts yelling at you for something small. Do you allow this to bring you down the rest of the day? Would it be worth it? How do we know that he/she just didn't have an argument at home and have decided to take it out on someone else? Like that McDonald's commercial where the man can't even bear to speak to anyone until he has a cup of coffee first. So the whole world should just adjust to someones bad attitude?? I don't think so! Let someone stew in their own misery. Don't let them reel you in. Life's too short.

And that is what Personal Empowerment means to me. Actually deciding that my happiness is in my own two hands. Who cares if so and so calls me and who cares if so and so likes me or not? What I've seen is this..if someone has made up their mind about you, most likely there is nothing you can do to change it. There could be a multitude of reasons why she or he doesn't like you. You could spend/waste many hours dissecting or analyzing the why's. So as long as you know you have been kind and respectful then nothing else should matter. Remember misery loves company and so if you get sucked in and wonder how you got there, then you need to take a long look at yourself and see how...

Life's too short. Another thing I've learned is to grin and bear it and eventually your mood will catch up. It's hard for unhappiness to stay if you are smiling like a goofy person. Find the laughter in any given moment. Moment's are too precious to waste. :)

Fast Forward Motion

I hate that I don't update this blog often enough. I constantly have writing topics that float through my mind but it seems the past few months I've just been absorbing facts, working, being a parent, and trying to keep afloat during these fast moving times. It's hard to be able to sit and formulate the correct or even meaningful words to describe exactly what I would like to share with my readers. I apologize!!

Is it me or does fall always seem to usher in more activity for everyone? Whether it's for other parent's trying to get their kids ready for school or people come back from their summer vacations and work just seems to take off! Amazing how cyclical everything is and how everyone seems to always be in the same positions. I personally believe it's because we really are all connected and whatever motion we set off, it affects the other.

I titled this post Fast Forward Motion because I have noticed with the use of greater technology, doesn't it seem like there was a set speed all of a sudden that we have gotten use to and now try to ingrain into our personal lives? We barely have to wait for anything anything. All that we basically need or want, we can go out and retrieve within minutes, hours, and at the most days. Type in whatever information you are inquiring about, Google can give you within seconds. Netflix delivers movies right to your door. Mcdonalds has hot breakfast for you in 2 minutes. UPS and other shipping companies strive to make sure a shipment that needs to go red, actually does! Emails took the place of snail mail and the amount of people carrying blackberry's now well....they are never far from what needs to be sent to them - work has an ending where here?? Do we know how to wait patiently anymore? Haha

My point is, things are happening fast all around us. It's what we've gotten used to, we probably don't even really notice the pace really. However with this, I wanted to stop and point something out. We accomplish so much in one day than our ancestors ever did in months just a century ago ago! We can hop on a flight to London and get there within hours. They used to have to be on a ship if they wanted to cross continents and didn't expect to arrive upon their destinations until 2 or three seasons later. Think about it, from morning until nightfall, what are the things that you get done? Especially when you have errands. So give yourself some credit! If you're not at the highlight of your career at this time, or you don't have the dream spouse or dream home yet, try not to sweat it! Life is much more. So much more now you can see and do. Give yourself a break and when you have a moment to just relax and breathe, take it. Sip a cup of coffee or cocoa, since fall is close, put your feet up and just enjoy the moment.....
We have all come very far....
I see so many positive things in our world today that was never there before. Our global community is becoming smaller, people in all sorts of different countries are communicating with one another daily, environmental awareness is reaching farther and farther, and even though the economy hasn't been so great, hasn't it put the focus back on how we can all help one another? It's taught us empathy. Anyone can lose his or her job at any moment. At some point in time we all need a helping hand. Something to remember the next time any of us sees a person struggling.

Onward we go!!

The Road Ahead

I can't believe it's been since March that I've posted on this blog. I apologize. I have such a hard time coming up with the energy to do all the things I want to do. But I wanted to focus today's entry on things that I've noticed for a long time now. Since the day we were born, we've had goals and we thrive to achieve them. But somewhere along the line, we've forgotten how to capture the essence of what's right in front of us.

Sometimes, I will just sit and watch my baby as he focuses his full attention on whatever item he keeps putting in his mouth. He will eye it with such intensity and rarely nothing can pull his attention away from it except for some other loud noise in the room. The point is...he is living in the moment. How did we learn to think, "I will be happy when this happens some day, or I will be happy when I get this someday..."

What if that some day never comes? Does that we mean, we've just been living in unhappiness every other day? If we constantly think or focus on the future to ensure the happiness in ourselves, then it will ALWAYS be out of our reach. We are the creators of our own reality. With the mindset of happiness is in the future then that is exactly what we are getting. Happiness will always ONLY be in the future. This moment is the only guarantee that we have. The past is gone, the future is unsure of. Don't wait for happiness. Create it now. :) Do what makes your heart sing. Dance in front of the mirror alone. Sit and enjoy a simple cup of latte or just take a walk outside and enjoy nature. Whatever you choose to do...put your whole focus and attention on it. Because if you don't you are only cheating yourself. You will lose the moment and never will you get it again. Time passes by very fast. How many things happened in the past that we wished we could have appreciated more? Don't make today be that day later on....

Clear out the Clutter...

It's been so long since I've written in this blog so if I have any readers on here, I want to apologize. Life sometimes just take off into this fast forward motion and all I really want to do is sit back and absorb. I can't believe I'm writing this post so late right now. It's past 11 and even though it's a Saturday night, it's past my bed time especially when I have a baby who doesn't know the meaning of sleeping in on the weekends. :)

But as I was shutting my eyes tonight these words just started tumbling around in my mind for this entry and since inspiration is so fleeting I decided to get up and come type this out. Secondly, I went to an intuitive counselor today and she actually mentioned my writing and said that my words are very healing to those who read it. That makes me happy to hear since I don't know who really reads this blog besides my close friends.

Now you see, I actually wrote the title of this entry on March 23 and kept meaning to come back to it, but I just didn't really know what to write. Now I do. Spring time is around the corner which for many activates the spring cleaning time. The reason why decluttering is so important is because it kind of nudges the universe by saying you are starting a blank slate and inviting more blessings and rewards into your life. It's kind of like the concepts from feng shui. You're home carry's a lot of your energy. If you pack it in too tight with little room for much else, that's exactly how life will play out for you at that moment. I'm pretty notorious at being a pack rat myself, but ever since I learned this concept about a year ago, I've seen many new things just come my way. I'm not saying I'm still very good at clearing things out, but slowly I'm getting there. By the end of this year, I would like to have a very clean and clear spaced home. The more clear it is, the more positive energy can flow in and faster the negative energy can flow out. Like the waves in the ocean.

Now this includes relationships. There are some people out there who are just toxic to certain other people. It doesn't mean they are bad people, just their negative characteristics come out more around some people. If you are around someone and they seem to only be bringing out your worse sides, unless you thrive on that kind of drama, it's necessary to take a step back and really evaluate the relationship. Releasing someone from your life doesn't mean you don't have love for them, it just means, you love yourself enough to say, "Hey I don't need to be steeped in negative energy every time this person calls me." So, "Go into your garden of relationships and pull the weeds out." I read that somewhere, but can't remember where. I thought it was very fitting to my life at this moment. I've never felt more calm or at peace than I am today. I go through the ups and downs like everyone else in life with stress from bills and work but overall I feel much gratitude from the loving people I do have that surround me.

They remind me to see the bigger picture and honestly since I've made such a concious decision to surround myself with more positive people, I see little blessings every single day. Life is a give and take, when you give love and joy, you receive back love and joy. :)
